Welcome to the Dando Lab!
The scientific interests of Dando Lab are mainly aimed at the characterization of cancer stem cells (CSCs), which play a central role in tumorigenesis, radio/chemo-resistance and the development of metastases and relapses in many types of cancer. Particular attention is paid to the study of the metabolic characteristics of these cells in ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreas with the aim of identifying specific alterations, useful for the discovery of new early diagnostic markers and the development of new effective therapeutic strategies.
We recently focused our attention also to the study of the activation of proangiogenic pathways induced by human chorionic gonadotropin in primary testicular and gubernaculum cells.
November 18th is the World Day for the fight against Pancreatic Cancer and the whole month of November is dedicated to
raising awareness on this issue.
We win the fight against Pancreatic Cancer together.
